Each Sunday, in Montréal’s Mont Royal park, a tempo is set. Drummers from the region and the world come to take part in this phenomenon. It begins with the sound of a solitary tam tam growing into a vibration of constantly evolving rhythms. Each moment is unique, a melody which may never be heard again. The participants become artists moulding sounds and harmonizing their emotions. Some hit their instrument with great strength while others gently tap the skin. Alone, each person emits a beat. Together the group creates original pieces that resonate throughout the park.
