Group presentation for DB 2

My group consisted of Simon Harchun and Karen Lee. In response to my work, both team members understood my reasoning for creating the title. They found the animation style suitable for the following radio interview and enjoyed the comicality of both music and text animations. Karen expressed disagreement with the change of style to a red background with white forest. She also found the stop of text flow for reading purposes not realistic and distracting. Simon felt that the essence of "Beaver" was not present in my piece. He would have liked to see a beaver appear somewhere during the sequence.

Karen’s title sequence is intended for a comedy show. In my opinion, the performance aspect of the source material is apparent in the title. It was clear to me that the source material for this sequence would be some sort of comedic stage performance. Karen intended the characters in her words to represent people. This was only clear to me during the audience cheer. The choice of font is appropriate, but colour experimentation would most likely prove fruitful. Text entrance and exit are successful but choppy. This could be improved by increasing the frame rate. Finally, I was not convinced of the choice of fonts for "Outsourced" as this was meant to emulate a neon light. The colour and animation are appropriate though.

Simon’s sequence is eye catching. The concept behind this title is somewhat reflected in the piece. I found the colours appropriate. I was perturbed by certain text fade-inns in contrast with speedy appearances. The two effects did not coordinate pleasantly. I believe a viewer is able to read quite quickly, therefore, I find the pendulum swing sequence slightly prolonged. In the gear zoom period, the inconsistency of disappearing text from "as soon as the edge touches" to an unpredictable moment is discomforting for viewers. This piece may have been dramatically improved by adding sounds (not necessarily music), as it is somewhat minimalist. I found the object animation very well executed.
